Safe Links
This feature protects users from malicious URLs in email messages or in Office files in real-time, scanning the link to see if it is on a block list set by Microsoft or by your organization. If the reputation of the link is good, you will be allowed to continue in the browser to view it. If the link is determined to be unsafe, a warning message will pop up and give you a confirmation to close the page.
Safe Attachments
Similar to Safe Links, Safe Attachments will scan email attachments for suspicious content by routing it to an environment where Defender will use machine learning and analysis to determine the safety of the files.
Safe Attachments not only works for email, but now also scans files in Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint. If a file is found to be malicious, a red shield icon will appear next to it. Users will not be able to open, copy, move, or share it; the only option will be to delete the file.
Anti-Phishing Protection
Impersonation phishing attacks are very common. This is when someone pretending to be from your organization emails you with a lookalike email address. For example, user@shartgea.com instead of user@shartega.com.
Mailbox intelligence is an AI that determines your frequent email patterns like who you typically communicate with in your organization. If you are contacted by a person using a similar email address to one of your peers, the message will contain a warning that it might not be from who you think it is from or it will be sent to your spam folder.
